Great Job in Jupiter!!

Dear parents and players,

On behalf of Cangelosi Baseball, John Cangelosi, Dave Payton, Bill Copp and all the coaches involved in the WWBA Perfect Game event in Jupiter, FL, I would like to take this chance to extend our gratitude to you.

Personally, I have been a part of many great teams that were made up of great young men, and I have to say that this Cangelosi Baseball team ranks right up there with the best.  We would first like to thank the parents for making this trip enjoyable for us.  You guys are great fans, parents and friends.  You should be so proud of your sons for what they accomplished this weekend.  Making it that far in a national tournament takes not only skill and ability, but mental toughness and character.  That is a true reflection of good parenting.  We also would like to acknowledge you for sacrificing your time and hard earned money by allowing your sons to be a part of our program and giving them every opportunity to take their skills to the next level.  So to the parents, thank you, you guys are great.  We are happy to have your family be part of our “Cangelosi Family.”

Next, the players, or in the affectionate words of Cangy, Bill and Dave, the “dirtbags”.  What can I say, personally, I have developed relationships with most of you over the summer coaching with Bill, and now have gotten to know all of you this weekend.  On behalf of the entire Cangelosi Baseball organization, congratulations!  You have achieved what no other Midwest team has accomplished in this, or any other Perfect Game World Tournament.  Advancing that far was quite an accomplishment for you guys and we are very happy for you.  I hope that you never forget the experience in Florida.

As many of you go back to your respective schools, and continue on in the classroom, and then your Junior or senior years of baseball this spring, don’t expect your friends to get all excited when you tell them about your achievements this weekend, they probably won’t get it.  It’s something that you just have to be a part of to understand.

Finally, just remember to always carry that certain amount of “dirtbagness” around with you at all times.  What I mean by that is never be afraid to get a little dirty, or put in the extra effort no matter if it’s on the field or off.  That is what makes you guys great now, and that is what will make you even better in the future.

Thank you for a great experience,

The Cangelosi staff

The Dome is being Inflated

Tomorrow on August 1st, 2008 the Bo Jackson's Elite Sports Dome will be inflated in the morning. Construction crews say that this process usually takes around 2 hours to complete. That is pretty impressive seeing that it takes most people longer than that to inflate a pool raft.

I will keep you posted!

New Website!

We finally got the new website up!! After many months of planning Cangelosi Baseball went live with its new and improved website. Cangelosi Baseball would like to thank the people at BlueLemon Media for helping us make this happen.

New to Blogging

I decided to start the Cangelosi Blog in order for the organization to be more efficient in supplying information to the public in a quick fashion. We will test it out and if you guys (and gals) seem to like the idea we will keep at it. Let us hear your feedback.

Thank you from Cangelosi Baseball

Parents, Coaches, and Kids:

We wanted to tell you all thanks for participating these past two weekends in the Winter Collegiate Development Camp.

Parents, thank you for giving your sons the opportunity and taking the time to get them out there. We try to remind these guys all the time that it is a privilege to get to play this game, not a right and to make sure they realize how much time, money, and effort you guys put into helping create opportunities for their futures. Please never hesitate to contact us for anything we could ever help you with.

High School coaches, thank you for working so hard for so many of these young men. They all gave a great effort, paid attention, and worked their tails off. It is great to see that so many of these kids come from great high school coaches that are teaching them, not only how to play the game but how to be a student of it. Thank you for allowing them to come to this, we trust that it was a great experience for them. Please let us know how we can better help you guys out.

For the kids, thank you for coming eager to learn and ready to work. As coaches, it is extremely refreshing to get young men that have passion for the game. Guys, remember that every time you put the jersey on and strap it up, it is time to improve yourselves. Every day you are either choosing to get better or choosing to get worse. You guys are tremendous young men and represented yourselves, your families, and your high schools proudly. Have a great high school season!

Thanks to the Illinois Sparks organization for their hard work and help with the logistics and organization. I have thanked many of you personally (Billy, Dave, Don, Wayne, Joe, Jim R.), but you guys are first class all the way.

Thanks Ho-Chunk and Fran for letting us invade for two weekends.

It was a great event for everyone involved. The college coaches were nothing short of outstanding and took time to coach individual kids repeatedly. We look forward to them all coming back next year!

Construction In progress

The construction of Cangelosi Baseball's new home has been underway for a few months now in Lockport, Illinois. Unfortunately due to the weather we have been having in the Chicago land area we have encountered some delays. Our construction team is working their very best to try and overcome the difficulties of building during this time of the year. I will keep you guys posted as new information becomes available.
