Food For Thought

Season is right around the corner! Hope everyone's workouts are going well.

For hitters your workouts should start consisting of more of a velocity workouts. Example: A good exercise is the walk-up drill on the Iron Mike. This focuses on less reaction time which in essence will give you a shorter, quicker, explosive swing to the baseball. It will help you alleviate any longness or hardness in your approach. Hitting a baseball is effortless power which this drill will help you create.

Advise...

All of your hard work over the course of this winter preparing yourself for the upcoming season is approaching quickly. Don't let all of the hard work and what you have learned about your strengths and weaknesses as a player go to waste. It's more important to maintain your workouts over the course of the season. Example: As a hitter you may struggle with certain pitches during a game. Simple concept is to work on that pitch in practice the next day to create confidence it helps offset any doubt with your approach at the plate. As we all know baseball is a mental game this is one key component to making you a successful hitter.

The moral of the story is you need to continue practicing your game throughout the season to maintain confidence. We have our staff on hand all season long to create a routine and practice habits that will help you get to the next level.

Wishing everyone much success,

Conclusion of the College Development Camp

Tremendous feedback from the college coaches. They were all very impressed with the energy you guys brought to the camp and most importantly your professionalism that you applied on the field. The coaches loved your willingness to implement what they were teaching. I appreciate your efforts over the past two weekends to make this a very successful camp for you and the future high school kids. We're wishing you all the very best in your quests for continuing your baseball careers. Remember to practice with a purpose; meaning forming a routine and identifying your strengths and weaknesses as a player. Baseball is a game that you have to practice year around. Remember what you have been working hard for all winter. More importantly, make sure you get repetitive exercise during your summer months when you are playing games. This is one way to maximize your ability as a player.

We personally want to thank the parents for letting their kids participate in our third annual College Developmental Camp. We're always looking to get better as an organization, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again for all who represented Cangelosi Baseball and wishing everyone much success.

College Development Camp

The 3rd Annual College Development camp is coming up this weekend. Players will attend this weekend (Jan 17-18) and again the following weekend (Jan 24-25). Each of the weekends will have college coaches from all around the country coming in to work with the players. It is a great opportunity to get in front of a lot of colleges at one venue. Registration is still open and will close on Jan. 16th. Check back for updates about the camp.
